As life becomes more complex, insurance should become more thoughtful.

The need for better advice often starts earlier than people expect: a first lease that requires liability coverage, a first home in Westchester, a growing art or jewelry schedule, a nanny on payroll, a new teen driver, or a second property in Florida or the Hamptons. The complexity can be modest or extraordinary. The discipline is the same.

A jewelry sublimit of $2,500. Actual cash value rather than replacement cost. A liability ceiling that would not cover a serious auto accident. Worldwide property coverage missing entirely. Domestic staff exposure sitting outside the program. These are not edge cases; they are standard gaps in standard policies.

Specialty carriers such as Chubb, AIG Private Client Group, PURE, and Berkley One were built to close those gaps. Our job is to match the right carrier to the right household, structure the coverage correctly, and keep the program current as life changes.

What we cover

One relationship.
The full personal picture.

From the everyday to the unusual. Each line placed with the carrier best suited to it, all coordinated under a single advocate.

01

Homeowners

Replacement-cost coverage for primary, secondary, and vacation homes. Includes guaranteed rebuild, ordinance & law coverage, and full coverage for outbuildings, pools, and landscape investments.

02

Automobile

Daily drivers, family SUVs, teen drivers, performance cars, exotics, and serious collections, placed with carriers that understand agreed-value coverage and treat the cars in your garage as the assets they are.

03

Personal Umbrella & Excess Liability

The single most under-purchased coverage in personal insurance. We recommend coverage scaled to your net worth and exposure.

04

Jewelry, Art & Collections

Scheduled coverage for engagement rings, family jewelry, watches, art, wine, antiques, and serious collections, at agreed value, worldwide.

05

Excess Flood

NFIP coverage caps at $250,000 for the structure. Excess flood policies extend protection to your home's actual replacement value, essential for waterfront, coastal, and floodplain properties.

06

Identity & Cyber Protection

Identity theft restoration, cyber extortion, and online fraud coverage, increasingly important for anyone with assets to protect.

07

Domestic Staff & In-Home Employment

Workers' compensation and employer's liability for nannies, housekeepers, gardeners, and personal assistants. Required by law in most states once you employ staff.

08

Life & Disability

Individual life insurance for family protection, estate liquidity, and long-term planning, and individual disability coverage that protects your income stream when you can't work. Coordinated with your attorney, advisor, and CPA so the planning conversations actually connect.

Why a high net worth carrier

It's not about the brand.
It's about how the policy is written.

The differences are structural, and they only matter when something goes wrong.

Replacement cost

Replace, not depreciate.

Standard policies pay actual cash value, what the item was worth the day before it was lost. High net worth carriers pay what it costs to actually replace it, even if that's higher than the policy limit.

Cash settlement

Rebuild, or take the check.

If your home is a total loss, high net worth carriers will pay the full insured value in cash and let you decide whether to rebuild, relocate, or take a different path. Standard policies generally won't.

Higher base limits

Liability limits that match the risk.

Standard policies often cap personal liability at $300,000–500,000. High net worth policies start at $1 million and easily extend to umbrella coverage of $5 million, $25 million, or $100 million and beyond when needed.

Worldwide coverage

Your things, anywhere.

High net worth personal property coverage follows you, whether your wedding ring is in a hotel safe in Paris or a piece of art is on loan to a museum.

Specialized claims

Adjusters who speak your language.

High net worth carriers staff their own claims adjusters who handle complex losses, appraising art, sourcing custom millwork, coordinating with conservators. You're not on hold with a call center.

Loss prevention

Help before the loss happens.

Recommendations for proactive loss prevention and risk mitigation tools, including water leak detection, security, and other measures that may qualify for carrier discounts where appropriate.

In practice

What it looks like
when coverage is done right.

"

A client's washing machine supply line burst overnight on the second floor. By morning, water had damaged the laundry room, the ceiling and hardwood floors of the kitchen below, custom cabinetry, and a few pieces of inherited furniture. Total loss approached $140,000.

Because the policy was placed correctly, the carrier dispatched a specialist claims adjuster within twenty-four hours. A restoration crew was on site the same day. Replacement values were honored without depreciation. The family stayed in a furnished rental, paid for in full, while the affected rooms were rebuilt.

Resolution Roughly three weeks from first call to settled claim. Zero out-of-pocket beyond the deductible. The kitchen was rebuilt to match, and the inherited pieces were restored by specialists sourced through the carrier.

The same process and the same standard of care handle multi-million-dollar losses, fine art claims, and total-loss rebuilds. The scale changes. The discipline does not.

Common questions

What clients tend to ask first.

What counts as "high net worth" for insurance purposes?

The threshold is lower than people often assume. Most high net worth carriers will write policies for individuals with a home value of $1 million or more, or meaningful liquid assets. The underwriting is less about a hard number and more about complexity. Once you own a home above what a standard policy was designed for, multiple properties, valuable collections, or face higher liability exposure, the math shifts in favor of a specialty carrier. The same firms also handle clients well into nine and ten figures of net worth, the structure scales up cleanly.

Do I really need an umbrella policy?

Almost always, yes. A personal umbrella policy provides liability coverage above and beyond the limits of your home and auto policies, typically starting at $1 million and going up to $25 million or more. The cost is modest relative to the protection, and it's the single coverage most often underweight in personal insurance plans we review.

What's actually different between Chubb or PURE and a standard carrier?

The differences are structural, not cosmetic. High net worth carriers pay replacement cost rather than actual cash value, offer cash settlement options on total losses, write higher liability limits by default, include worldwide coverage on personal property, staff specialty claims adjusters, and provide loss-prevention services. None of these are typical features of mass-market policies.

Will my existing carrier tell me if my coverage is inadequate?

Generally, no. Carriers and captive agents have no obligation, and little incentive, to flag underinsurance. Independent reviews are how gaps get found. We offer a complimentary coverage review for prospective clients; usually the conversation surfaces at least one meaningful issue.

How does the placement process actually work?

We start with a conversation, usually thirty minutes, to understand what you own and how you live. We review existing policies, identify gaps, and prepare proposals from the two or three carriers best suited to your situation. You choose. We handle the placement, the binding, and every renewal thereafter.

A short conversation, no obligation. We'll review what you have, tell you straight where the gaps are, and only propose changes if they're worth making.
